Old GA comic compared to new one by Elyandarin Old GA comic compared to new one by Elyandarin
From my comic archives

------------------

Here we go - a comparison between an old comic of mine and the newly redone version.

You'll notice that in the ten intervening years, I've learned:
a) to draw
b) to properly do night colours, and
c) that the speech bubble is in fact a helpful feature in a comic.

Another difference is that I now strive to have a standard fontsize - you can see in the old one that since I made the two halves separately, I got the text sizes messed up.
------------------

Of course, the new one probably took about three times as long, from start to finish - and while I'm doing this, I'm NOT producing a new fresh comic.
So, y'know, there's the rub.

It looks very good - I like the lighting particularly.

I don't know what happened to the "H" in "Hook?", though - it looks like "I I".

Wow, there's a lot of improvement here, both in art and dialogue.

Thanks :)
It was the dialogue part that got to me in the end; I was comfortable with quietly despising my early art - I think almost every artist does - but the script itself was another matter...

Also, the lack of speech bubbles in my early art... what was I THINKING?

Well, OK, dragging up the memory, I was thinking something like "OMG, these white speech bubbles glow like the sun and obscures the art!". It was before I realized I could make them partially transparent, I guess. Or that the art needed obscuring.

...No really, see panel 3 in the new one - I totally obscured the way I messed up drawing those legs, using the speech bubbles.
